In the year 2022, 96% of Americans will own a cell phone, with 55% of those phones being iPhones.

More than two million stores in the United States accept Apple Pay as a form of payment. It’s not clear if Walmart accepts Apple Pay like many other retailers. Let me show you what we found out.

Is Apple Pay Accepted at Walmart in 2022?

In 2022, Walmart will not accept Apple Pay in any of its stores. It’s also possible to make purchases at the registers and self-checkout sections of Walmart using an iPhone. Walmart only accepts MasterCard, Visa, Checks, PayPal, American Express, and cash as payment methods. They do not accept any other forms of payment.

How to Pay at Walmart with an iPhone Using Walmart Pay?

iPhone customers who want to pay for their purchases at Walmart quickly and easily using their smartphones are in luck.

In order to do this, you’ll need a free Walmart Pay account, an iPhone app, and a debit or credit card linked to the Walmart Pay app.

In addition, the video below demonstrates how to use Walmart Pay on an iPhone in-store to make a purchase and pay for it wirelessly.

Take your items to the register or self-checkout area, and scan the QR code when your final total is displayed to use the Walmart Pay app.

After scanning the QR code, you’ll be able to pay using your debit or credit card right away!

Apple Pay-style payments will go through instantly, and you’ll receive a digital receipt for safekeeping in the app as an added bonus.

Although Walmart Pay isn’t as easy to use as Apple Pay, it’s still the best option for customers who don’t want to carry around a wallet or purse when they shop.

What’s the reason Walmart doesn’t accept Apple Pay?

There was another reason why Walmart didn’t accept Apple Pay before they introduced Walmart Pay. MCX, the company they worked for, was the reason they were targeted.

CurrentC is the only payment method accepted by the company (MCX). Walmart does not use MXC, along with Google Pay and Samsung Pay, because it is a direct competitor of Apple Pay.

In addition, another reason Walmart does not accept Apple Pay is that they are unable to collect any data when a customer purchases something.

As a result, Walmart can send personalized recommendations and notifications to customers who use the Walmart Pay app. This information is invaluable.

Is it possible that Walmart will accept Apple Pay in the future?

A Walmart spokesperson confirmed that the retailer has no immediate plans to accept Apple Pay. You don’t need Apple Pay because Walmart Pay is built into the Walmart app you already have on your iPhone.

Are There Any Apple Pay-Enabled Stores?

Walmart does not accept Apple Pay, but you can still use your iPhone to buy groceries and other goods at tens of thousands of other stores.

Apple Pay is now accepted at checkouts at 7-Eleven and CVS, for example. They had been resisting the app, but recently gave in. Other stores that accept Apple Pay include:

You can also use a variety of methods to pay for your purchases at all stores because so many people now shop online. However, many retailers accept Apple Pay for purchases made online. Here are a few examples:

  • Disney
  • Doughnuts and coffee from Dunkin’
  • Etsy
  • Fandango
  • Lyft
  • Panera
  • Sephora
  • Starbucks
  • Uber
  • Wish

There is another option, however, if you’re at a Walmart and need to pay for something immediately:

  • AMEX
  • Cash
  • Pursue Payment
  • Check
  • Debit cards, such as Visa and MasterCard, are another option.
  • EBT
  • PayPal
  • Cashier’s check
  • Gift cards for Walmart are available.

For Walmart Customers, There is an alternative to Apple Pay.

It’s worth noting that you can use your Apple Pay app at Walmart, which is surprising. You can use your Apple Pay app with the ibotta app and extension. To get the most out of ibotta, you simply need to:

  • Install the ibotta app and browser extension on your smartphone and start earning cash back today!
  • You can then use Apple Pay to pay for your purchase via the ibotta app or extension at home on your computer or in the store.

An eCorp called Ibotta pays you up to 2% cashback on every purchase you make. However, it is restricted to a small number of products and retailers. Before making a purchase, you must first locate the items and deals on your phone.

You can, however, save 2% by using your Apple Pay and get cashback instantly by showing the QR code to the cashier.

There is also the option of using Affirm Financing

If you’re doing your online shopping at Walmart, you’ll also have the option of using Affirm in addition to these options. When it comes to installment financing, Affirm is in the same league as other options.

If you’re approved, you’ll be able to pay back your loan in three, six, or twelve months with this financing app.

As with layaway, you will not be charged interest on most items when using the Affirm eCommerce loan option. However, the annual percentage rate (APR) for items that do not qualify for that option can range from 10 to 30 percent. Your credit rating determines the APR.

Get the Walmart app

Follow these instructions to download the Walmart app so that you can begin using your iPhone to pay at Walmart checkouts.

  • You can find Walmart Pay in the Apple App Store by typing in “App Store Search: Walmart Pay.”
  • Begin the process of downloading the Walmart Pay App by clicking on it.
  • You can access the Services tab after you’ve downloaded the app.
  • Walmart Pay > Walmart Pay Setup
  • Simply follow the on-screen prompts to set up your preferred payment method for Walmart purchases.
  • To pay for your purchases at the checkout, all you need to do is scan the QR code.

What Are the Benefits of Using Apple Pay?

With Apple Pay, you don’t have to worry about anyone getting your PIN because there is no PIN number to give out. People will not be able to steal your phone while you are at the checkout because there is no credit card reader or chip in your phone.

In order to increase the level of security even further, you can use Face ID or Touch ID. These three sensors are all used to scan your face when you use Face ID.

You are the only one who can use this to pay with your phone unless you have a twin. Even your identical twin cannot fool the Touch ID system because it uses your fingerprint.

Using Apple Pay also eliminates the need to keep a copy of your receipt. You don’t have to worry about it with Apple Pay. Transactions are securely stored on your phone and can only be accessed by using a security method like:

A credit card with no annual fees is even better than Apple Pay on your iPhone. With the best APR possible, you can save money when you go shopping. The daily cashback purchase award is another perk of the Apple Card.

Every time you buy something, you get your money back right away. With Apple Pay, your 2 percent cashback is doubled, making it even better to use your Apple Card. Regardless of whether or not you use Apple Pay, you will save an additional 2% by using the card.
