In order to get a Share Name ID, what are the requirements?

If you’d like to alter your Share Name ID to a custom name, Verizon has a few criteria, including:

  • No spaces allowed in the beginning.
  • Can’t hold all the numbers you need.
  • Must not exceed a total of fifteen characters, not counting spaces or dashes.
  • Isn’t allowed to offend
  • It’s impossible that this would be inappropriate.
  • Both a last and a first name are required.
  • At most, you can use the following special characters: apostrophes, hyphens (-), commas (,), and hyphens (&).
  • Having more than one name is required.

Additionally, you have the option of displaying your phone number just, or keeping your name as it is by default.

What Devices Can I Use Share Name ID On?

Any smartphone with voice capabilities and a monthly basic subscription can use Verizon Share Name ID.

There are a number of devices, however, that are incompatible with Share Name ID. These include:

  • Dual-SIM devices
  • Prepaid phones
  • Prepaid plans
  • Phone numbers found in My Numbers
  • Number Share devices

In all outgoing calls, does Verizon Share Name ID appear?

It’s a shame that Verizon Share Name ID doesn’t operate on all outgoing calls because the service only works if you match the requirements listed below.

  • You’re not included in the person’s contact information.
  • Call Filter can be used on the receiving phone.
  • Caller ID is enabled on the recipient’s phone.

You may not be able to see your Share Name ID when you call someone, and it may not work outside of the Verizon network.

Is Verizon Share Name ID still able to block your name?

Use *67 before making the call to prevent your name from appearing on the caller identification screen if Share Name ID is enabled.

Furthermore, the caller ID will read “Restricted” instead of the recipient’s name when you place the call.

If you want to block your name and begin the call with *67, you’ll need to remember to input the 10-digit phone number.

Bottom Line

Verizon’s free Share Name ID service lets you customize the name that shows on the caller ID of others.

There are many ways in which you might alter your name.

In order to use Share Name ID, you must have a phone that is compatible with Call Filter and doesn’t have you listed as a contact on the receiving end of the call.
