Does Walgreens Have A Fax Machine

By David Krug 2 minute read

Even though digital technology has made it easier to share documents, people may still need to use fax machines in some cases.

As a convenience store, Walgreens offers a variety of services, including faxing. When I called Walgreens Customer Service, I learned this:

In 2022, will Walgreens still be able to send faxes to customers?

In 2022, Walgreens customers will be unable to send faxes from any of their locations. To fax, you could visit Staples, Office Depot, The UPS Store or FedEx, among other locations. One page of faxing costs $1-$2 for local, $2-$4 for long-distance, and $6-$8 for international faxing, depending on the provider.

Considering Walgreens does not have a public fax machine, you may want to learn about other options and the cost of sending a fax. Is there anything I can do for you?

What Other Locations Do You Have for Faxing?

If you need to send or receive a fax, you can visit any of the following locations:

  • Staples is the name of the game here (send only)
  • the Office Depot chain of stores (send only)
  • FedEx/Kinkos
  • There’s no doubt in my mind that (only for AAA members)
  • the postal annex (send only)
  • Petty Officer First Class J

Faxing is possible at any of the following locations: banks and credit unions; public libraries; hotels and travel agents; and city council offices.

Please be aware that fax machines at these locations may not be available for public use, so if you need a fax to be sent immediately, ask a coworker to do so.

Finally, there are a few online services that make it simple and quick to send or receive faxes:

  • MetroFax
  • MyFax
  • FaxZero

To Send a Fax, How Much Is The Cost?

Depending on the number of pages, the service provider, and the destination, the cost of sending a fax can vary greatly.

Based on the distance you are sending the fax, here is what you can expect to pay:

  • Local faxes of one page cost between one and two dollars.
  • In the $2 to $4 range, you can send an entire one-page fax across the country.
  • Between $6 and $8 for a one-page international fax.

Fax transmission and reception are both free of charge for AAA members.

Bottom Line

You can’t send faxes from any Walgreens location in the United States. If you prefer, you can send or receive faxes at FedEx, Staples, UPS, or Office Depot instead of going to the post office. One-page local faxes cost $1-$2; long-distance faxes cost $2-$4; and international faxes cost $6-$8.
