Is Safeway’s Online EBT/SNAP Program Available?

Safeway’s website requires that you go through the following procedures in order to utilize your EBT card:

Sign up for a account.

Add products to your shopping cart after scheduling a pick-up time.

Choose SNAP EBT as your payment method at the time of checkout by looking under “Promo Code & Payment/Payment Details.”

What Is Safeway’s Policy on EBT Payment?

Yes, consumers can pay with their EBT cards at the time of pickup at Safeway.

For grocery deliveries, however, they don’t currently accept this method of payment.

Is Safeway on Instacart accepting EBT?

Safeway, on the other hand, does not accept EBT payments made through Instacart. Aldi stores are the only ones making use of this feature for now.

Which Safeway Foods Can I Get for Free With My EBT Card?

Fortunately, Safeway accepts EBT for most of their food purchases. The following are the details:

What Safeway Products Are Not Eligible for EBT?

Unfortunately, only a limited number of items from Safeway can be purchased using an EBT card.

The following items are not eligible for this method of payment:

  • Beverages that include alcohol (wine, beer, champagne etc)
  • Cigarettes
  • Tobacco
  • Food for dogs and cats
  • Dishwashing items
  • Commodity papers
  • Supplies for the home
  • Prepared foodstuffs available for immediate consumption
  • Cosmetics and personal care items

Is EBT Accepted at Starbucks in Safeway?

Safeway’s Starbucks kiosk now accepts EBT cards. You can use your EBT card to buy Starbucks coffee and baked goods.

Only Safeway’s Starbucks is affected by this policy, though. There are no Safeway-affiliated Starbucks locations, thus customers will not be able to use this method of payment.

Is EBT accepted at Safeway Bakery?

Safeway’s bakery accepts EBT card payments. Any non-edible parts (such as cake decorations) that make up more than half of the item must be removed before purchasing it.

How Do I Shop At Safeway With Non-EBT Eligible Items?

Buying more goods in addition to your EBT purchases is perfectly acceptable!

Non-EBT items can be paid for with a debit/credit card or cash at the time of delivery.
