When it comes to video games, it’s no surprise that merchants from big to small are jumping on the bandwagon.
As a gamer, you’re not alone, and you’re probably familiar with Amazon’s wide range of video games and gaming consoles.
Is Amazon’s return policy for video games something you are interested in learning more about? The similar thought occurred to me, so I did some research and here are the findings!
Amazon’s Return Policy for Video Games in 2022
For a complete refund, you can return video games purchased from Amazon within 30 days after receipt. Restocking fees of up to 100% may apply to games that have been activated, used, or have pieces missing. Prepaid cards like Xbox Live, World of Warcraft, and Wii Points, as well as digital video game software, cannot be returned through Amazon.
Returning video games to Amazon and getting your money back if you change your mind are topics covered in the following article.
Is There A Way To Exchange Or Return Video Games From Amazon?
You may return video games to Amazon in the same way you would any other item: by following the on-screen instructions. If it’s within 30 days after shipping, it’s a reasonably short process.
You should be able to return the video games under your Amazon account orders if they are covered by Amazon’s 30-day global store return policy.
You can easily return by clicking the “Return” button and selecting a reason for your return. Follow the on-screen instructions to print out a return postage label and ship your item back to Amazon for a refund.
It’s a good idea to check the return policy on video games before making a purchase because not all retailers or manufacturers have the same basic return policy as Amazon.
You may need to contact Amazon directly if the return option does not appear in your orders or if the video game is not eligible for a return.
After 30 days, is it possible to return an Amazon video game?
Amazon may accept fresh and unused physical video games after 30 days.
For video games that have previously been activated and used, Amazon is highly unlikely to give a refund.
A restocking fee and mailing expenses may be required if you return a video game to Amazon beyond the 30-day return period.
If a return and refund are permitted, you can contact Amazon customer service by clicking the help button next to the order.
Is Amazon Acceptable for Returns of Opened Video Games?
Depending on Amazon’s policies, you may be able to return opened video games, but you will likely be charged a restocking fee equal to the value of the video games itself.
Refunds for video games returned under the 30-day policy from Amazon may not be as generous as they could be if the restocking fee (typically 100% of the original price) is factored in.
Only brand-new, unused video games should be returned to Amazon to ensure a refund.
Is it possible to return a used video game to Amazon?
In theory, Amazon will accept returned used video games; in practice, however, there is a snag. A restocking fee of up to 100% of the original price will be charged for returned video games that have been used or have missing parts.
Restocking fees may not be known until after you’ve sent back the video games.
Since most Amazon customers avoid used video game returns, they make sure they’ll actually utilize their games before opening them.
What Happens to Returned Video Games When Amazon Handles Them?
If you bought the wrong video game and it turns out there was no defect, Amazon will check to see if the product is still in good condition before returning it to the warehouse shelves.
If you’re looking for gently used or prepackaged video games, check Amazon Warehouse instead of Amazon’s video game category. To view the whole list of video games on Amazon, go to www.amazon.com/warehousedeals.
The video games you return to Amazon will likely be inspected by an Amazon employee before they are relisted by the seller or placed in the Amazon Warehouse Deals section.
