In-store, online, and via the Target app, Target, one of the country’s largest retail chains, sells a wide range of computer products, including desktops, laptops, and other accessories.

Suppose, on the other hand, that you’re not happy with your purchase and would like to return it to Target? To the best of my knowledge, the Target return policy on computers is as follows:

By the year 2022, Target will accept returns of new, unused laptops and desktop computers within 30 days of purchase, both in-store and online. If a customer purchases a product with a Target RedCard, they can return it for a refund within 60 days of the date of purchase.

In terms of computer return policies, how strict is Target’s return policy?

Target’s regular return policy is 90 days for opened and unopened products, but electronics have a much stricter return policy than that.

In order to receive a refund for unused or unopened computers, laptops, and accessories, they must be returned to the store within 30 days of purchase.

When returning an item, be sure to include the original receipt as proof of purchase.

Is it possible for me to bring back computers that Target no longer wants or needs?

Electronic and entertainment products like computers and laptops can’t be returned to Target because they’ve been opened.

These can, however, be returned to the retailer and exchanged for the same or a similar item.

Do You Need A Receipt To Accept A Return Of A Computer To A Target Store Location?

If you don’t have the original receipt, you may not be able to return a computer or laptop to Target because of their strict return policy.

The decision is left to the discretion of each store manager, who may occasionally offer exchanges, according to workers on online forums.

If you don’t have the original receipt, you can still return a computer to Target if you can provide proof of purchase.

As a result, Target will be able to track and verify your purchase if you paid at Target using any of the following payment methods:

  • RedCard from Target
  • Visa
  • MasterCard
  • Credit cards issued by American Express
  • Discover
  • Check Yourself Out (you must bring a blank check)
  • a gift card to Target (you must bring the card you used)

When returning an item, don’t forget to bring your payment method with you. A digital barcode or receipt can be retrieved from your account to prove that you purchased an item online.

If you paid with cash and do not have a receipt, you will receive a “merchandise return card” as a refund. It’s not possible to use this coupon online at; it can only be used in Target stores.

Is it possible to return a computer to Target after the 30-day grace period has expired?

In order to get a full refund, you can return computers and laptops purchased at Target after the 30-day return policy has expired.

Instead, you’ll receive an in-store-only merchandise gift card equal to the item’s 30-day low price history.

You may not be able to return an Apple computer product after the return window has expired if you follow the company’s return policy.

Do You Accept Gifted Computers Back?

As long as you have a gift receipt or packing slip for the computer you’re returning, you can return it to Target for a Target GiftCard, not a cash refund.

To receive a merchandise card refund, you must use a merchandise card to pay for any portion of your transaction.

The person who gave you the computer did so on the same day that you received it, so you will have to wait an extra day if you return it using the gift receipt.

To what extent can I return computers purchased at Target?

The original receipt is required for the 30-day no-fee return or exchange of any unopened computers, laptops, or similar products at any Target location.

A valid form of government-issued photo ID will be required to complete the return process.

In-store, you can get help with your return at Target Guest Services. You can also call the Target Guest Services Team at 1-800-591-3869 to schedule a return of your item.

You’ll get your money back using the same method you paid with. The following are typical wait times for each of these services:

  • 1 to 3 days for a third-party credit card
  • 1 to 2 business days

Getting your money back from Target can take up to five days if you use an Online Return Centre.

Returning Computers Bought on What Should I Do?

Any of the following can be used to return computers purchased from to a nearby store:

  • The Target app’s original receipt 
  • Barcode
  • Shipping confirmation email from Target
  • Payment method used in the beginning

By logging into your account, selecting “Return,” and printing the return shipping label, you can return computers by mail. Unless Target made an error in shipping, you will be responsible for the cost of the return shipping.

There are some products that cannot be returned by mail. When you return an item to, you will be informed if this is the case.

At Target, How Do I Get a Longer Returns Window for My Computer?

Almost all items, including computers, come with an extended 30-day return period for Target RedCard holders.

With a Target RedCard, for example, you would be able to return a computer within 60 days of purchasing it for a full refund.

It’s also worth noting that Target-owned brands can be returned for up to one year if they are still in their original packaging, unopened, and with their original receipt.

If you have the receipt and the computer is in brand new condition, you can return it to Target for a refund within 30 days of purchase.
