Here’s our Kia Telluride Car Insurance Rates for you. It’s not yet possible to figure out how much insurance will cost for a new Kia Telluride because it’s still a new car. It costs more to buy the Telluride than to buy the Sorento, which has the same chassis. The Sorento costs an average of $175 a month, for a total of $2100 a year. There are a lot of things that can affect how much you pay for insurance. For example, your gender and age can both affect how much you pay.

How do I compare insurance for Telluride?

If you buy a brand-new Telluride, you’ll have to pay more for insurance than you would for a used one. This could affect how much your insurance costs, as well as other things, like:

  • Body type. In this case, the SUV is a medium-sized one. Telluride has three rows of seats and can hold up to eight people. So, because it’s an SUV, it might cost more to insure than a sedan would because it’s bigger.
  • Fuel. You can get 20/26mpg in the city and highway with a 3.8-liter V6 engine. As a general rule, insurance costs for gasoline-powered cars are lower than those for diesel-powered cars.
  • Crime rates are going up. Because there aren’t any theft rates for the 2020 model, we don’t know how often it’s stolen yet. Because Kias are known to be more likely to be stolen than other cars, this is what people say about them
  • Maintenance. For the most part, Kias have annual maintenance costs of less than $400, but not all of them. After an accident, the repairs are cheaper, so your insurance premiums may go down as a result of this.
  • Coverage. There are more seats, which means there are more people. If your liability and PIP limits are higher, you may be able to protect everyone in your carpool or family.
  • Warranty. For new Kia cars, the company gives them a very long warranty. Because roadside assistance is free for the first five years you own your car, you won’t have to pay extra for it when you buy car insurance.

The following items are covered by this guarantee:

  • 10-year/100,000 mile limited powertrain warranty
  • 5-year/60,000 mile limited basic warranty
  • 5-year/100,000 mile limited anti-perforation warranty
  • 5-year/60,000 mile roadside assistance plan

Does the Kia Telluride qualify for car insurance discounts?

If you have anti-lock brakes on the Telluride, your insurance costs will be less.

  • Airbags
  • Rollover sensor
  • Anti-lock braking system (ABS)
  • Vehicle stability management (VSM)
  • Electronic stability control (ESC)
  • Highway driving assist
  • Surround view monitor

How reliable is the Kia Telluride?

  • Safety. They haven’t given the Telluride a rating yet because it’s still a new car. Kias, on the other hand, gets 3 out of 5 reliability stars from J.D. Power, and the whole car gets a 5 out of 5.
  • Reliability. J.D. Power hasn’t yet given a rating for how reliable they are. Because the Sorento, which is the Telluride’s brother, got a perfect score from the IIHS and NHTSA, we may expect the same from the new car.
  • Recalls. This is the first time that Telluride has had any car recalls reported to us yet. People who bought Kia cars in 2013 may have had problems with their brakes. 2019 was a bad year for cars that caught fire because of gas leaks from faulty recall repairs. This is a new problem that started in 2019.

Bottom line

There’s a new SUV called the Telluride from Kia. It costs about $175 a month for insurance on one of them. Compared to other cars of the same size and style, this SUV’s insurance costs aren’t too high or too low.

Before you make a decision, look around for the best deal on your insurance.
